OPEN POST-DOC POSITION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
We receive from our Member Daan van Kruining:
“I am writing to share an exciting post-doc opportunity in the lab of Frances Platt (infos at the Submenu “Job offers”) at the University of Oxford, funded by the Silverstein Foundation. This will be an extension of my current fellowship on the role of sphingolipids in GBA-related Parkinson’s disease. Since I will be moving back to the Netherlands, I will remain involved as a co-supervisor in the project. Although the position would begin in January 2026, the application submission for the new fellow requires us to select a potential candidate asap by early next month. We recognise the tight timeline, but we believe this could be a fantastic opportunity for a young post-doc within the Sphingolipid Club network. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, including deadline submission, at daan.vankruining@pharm.ox.ac.uk, https://plattlab.pharm.ox.ac.uk/.
SEARCHING FOR A PHD POSITION
Doğuhan Yalım, a promising young turkish scientist, wrote to the Sphingolipid Club asking for a PhD position in an European or American laboratory. If interested, you could contact directly Doğuhan
at doguhanyalimm@gmail.com.
ISN COUNCIL AND TREASURER ELECTIONS
We are pleased to communicate that Erhard Bieberich and Vlad Parpura have been nominated Council Member and Treasurer of the International Society of Neurochemistry, respectively. We congratulate with both of them.
FRAUDOLENT EMAILS
It happens periodically, even not frequently, that some Members of the Sphingolipid Club receive fraudolent emails asking for money or other utilities, with the false signature of our President. All our Members should know that that the only official email address of the Club is info@sphingolipidclub.com. Unfortunately, it is not easy to get exempt from such fake contacts. Anyway, please, inform the Club if you receive further fraudolent communications.
RENEWAL OF THE MEMBERSHIP TO THE SPHINGOLIPID CLUB
Finally, and most important! All our Members whose Membership to the Club has expired on December 2024 are warmly invited to extend their subscription for the next two years. Related infos can be found on our website at the “Become a Member” submenu. Remember that the subscription as Members is mandatory for the survival of the Club.
